5th Grade Music
Our music team would like to invite 5th grade instrumental students and parents to our local High School Area Concert performance:
6:00PM Strings Performance (5:30PM call time for students)
7:45PM Band Performance (7:15PM call time for students)
The concert will be held at your child’s local high school. Attendance at ONLY ONE concert is requested. Dates for each high school performance is as follows:
Tesoro High School: Tuesday January 30
San Juan Hills High School: Friday February 9
Capistrano Valley High School: Monday February 12
Reading Counts Wednesdays
Don’t forget to wear your. Reading Counts Lanyards on Wednesdays to receive a pride ticket from their teacher.
FUTURE SJHHS STALLION BASKETBALL NIGHTS
San Juan Hills High School would like to invite all of our Future Stallions (Kindergarten – 8th grade) to attend the upcoming basketball games and the “Future Stallions Basketball Shootout Competition.”
Boys Game – Friday, February 2nd at 7:00 PM in the SJHHS gym
According to CIF bylaws we can only offer a free t-shirt to students in elementary school so the first 100 kids will receive a free t-shirt at each game. However, middle school students can purchase a shirt for $5. Your children do not need to sign-up to attend either game. They will gain free admission if they say what school they are from. They are also welcome to attend both games. We look forward to this winter event and hope to build off the excitement generated at the football toss this past fall. As a reminder, all kids will get in for free but parents/family will need to pay to get into the game. Adult admission to the game is $8.

Primary Music – Matching Funds Available!
We hope everyone enjoyed their child’s Primary Music demonstration on Friday! As you know, Primary Music (K-3) is 100% parent-funded. Believe it or not, we are already beginning to raise funds for the 2018-2019 school year. We have exciting news to share – any donation made to LRES Primary Music in the next two weeks will be matched (up to $500). If you’ve been thinking about donating, now is a great time. The remainder of the classes will be held in May.

Do your kids love to perform? Could they be the next Taylor Swift or Misty Copeland? If so, it’s time to start practicing their act. Auditions for the LRES 4th annual talent show will take place on Tuesday, February 6th and Wednesday February 7th.
We’re looking for singers, dancers, and musicians as well as other novelty acts to star in this year’s show. Perform with the Pride will take place on Friday, February 23rd at 6:00 pm in the MPR. Thank you to all who came to our Science Fair informational meeting. If you missed it, and your student wants to participate he/she can pick up the registration packet from the front office. Registration forms are due before Thursday, February 8th at 2:30pm. All registration forms must be turned in to your teacher for approval. Do not return to the office.

Join us as we “oooohhhhh, aaaaahhhh and bid on” fabulous works of art made by our very own LRES students! There will also be a curated assortment of live & silent auction items, you won’t want to miss! Can you say… Hamilton tickets?!?
It’s sure to be a night to remember! Keep an eye out for the Art Auction invitation and opportunity to purchase tickets in the next few weeks.

Join in the fun and volunteer to be an Art Volunteer! Several classes are still looking for a volunteer to facilitate the class art project that will be auctioned off.

Calling all Ladera Ranch Lions to wear red, white, and blue in support of a local Olympian.
If you haven’t already heard, Ladera Ranch’s own Jonathon Blum will be representing Team USA next month at the 2018 Winter Olympics in South Korea as a member of the Ice Hockey Team. Wow! What an incredible, once in a life time opportunity for him and a uniquely special opportunity for our community to come together to cheer him on in a big, big way.
