QUICK NEWS & UPDATES:
- Afterschool dismissal reminder – Waiting areas for parents are on the wall next to the office in the front of the school. Please do not wait on the walls in front of the 100 building or look into the windows. Even though it is very hard to see into the windows, it is very easy to see out of the windows & it can be distracting for students. Thank you!
- Our parking lot accommodates staff, library patrons, and visitors. The spots marked “staff” or “staff with a number” are for the teachers, parents should park in the OCPL spots before 10:00am, & parents should park in the visitors spots after 10:00am. Thank you for leaving the numbered spots for our teachers!

BOX TOPS: LRES Box Top Challenge kicks off today and runs until October 11th. This is a super easy way to help our school earn money. Simply trim the pink Box Top logo from participating brands and tape or paste them onto the collection sheet you received in your Thursday folder. You can also collect them in plastic bags. Please write the total number collected along with your child’s full name, teacher and grade level. (This helps us bundle them into groups of 50 and keep track for individual and class prizes.) Please email Hope Hokama at email@example.com with any questions.
For more information and a complete list of participating brands, please visit www.btfe.com
ANNUAL FUND: LRES is asking every family and community member to consider making an investment in education and to give what they can to help our students. We suggest a tax-deductible contribution of just a $1-per- school day (less than what you’d pay for a trip to Starbucks) which is just $177.00 per family, per year. These funds will make a difference where it matters most – in the classroom. Last year, your $12,000 in contributions helped to purchase 36 brand new computers for our school’s computer lab.
This year, your $1-per-day pledge can help us fund an IN-CLASS Science Enrichment Program for all students K – 5th offered by Discovering Science (www.discoveringscience.com). Help us meet our goal of 100% participation from all families by December 31, 2013. Please contact Tracy Fuller at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions.
