Reflections District Winners
Congratulations to our four LRES students whose artwork was featured at the CUSD Reflections Gallery Night! They were:
Makana Johnson (4th Grade - Award of Excellence - Visual Arts)
Mark Murray (4th Grade - Award of Merit - Photography)
Maryam Nalakath (3rd Grade - Participation - Literature)
Natalie Rouse (2nd Grade - Participation - Visual Arts)
A special shout-out to Makana Johnson who advanced to the Fourth District Reflections Final, held at the OC Department of Education in February!
Art Masters
Art Masters is a PTA-funded art education program that introduces students to master artists and their techniques. Six times a year students attend an Art History Assembly where they learn about the lives and works of the month’s artist. In the following weeks, students participate in a class activity to create their own original artwork based on the current artist. The Art Masters instructor guides the students in an age appropriate project based on the technique of the master artist. Art Masters is a wonderful PTA sponsored program that introduces art history, fine art, builds confidence and is lots of fun!
